to get yourself noticed, go to modelmayhem.com. sign up and photographers who are looking for the qualities that you have might ask you to do photoshoots ect.

Answer by Jen
Your initial goal shoul be to
1. Have fun and
2. build your portfolioan get as much experience as possible!

I agree, modelmayhem.is great!
I am a photographer, and find it a great way to find models.
You will see photographers advertising “TP” (time for prints) that means you don’t get paid fo modelling, but will receive a copy of prints (or jpgs) in return for your time. A great way to build your portfolio!

Also try contacting camera clubs, new photographers are always looking for willing models. In my experience, camera clubs attached to camera stores usually even pay for your time. But the main thing would be to make sure you will receive copies of the photos for yor portfolio.

Also try photography students- research local tafes and uni’s and put notices up on their notice board, you will get a call for sure!

I’d also recommend checking out Amazon, buy some books on posing (usually aimed at photographers) but practise your poses in the mirror.

Collect magazine cut outs for poses, and photography ideas. If you are starting out, you will probably mostly be working with newer photographers- so the more ideas you have to suggest to them, the better your photos will turn out!

And one last suggestion, if it takes your fancy… learn about photography, having an understanding will make you a better model. And it isa great way to meet people who will be looking for willing models.

Cheers
Jen

How do I model for a horse magazine?

Here is the Question: How do I model for a horse magazine?
I would really love to model for levi, wrangler or other western wear but I am not sure how to get myself out there. I am only 16 so I might have to model for teen jeans. I have professional pictures of me that I can send in to a magazine but I have no idea how to get discovered. Any tips?

Best answer found:

Answer by Jenn
You would need to send them more to wrangler and the jean companies. You also would probably do better if you had an agent to sell you to them. It is harder for independent people to get into the business. Also do you live near where they shoot and that kind of stuff. It would not be very profitable if you had to fly across country every time.

I’m almost certain that you’re not as fat as you think you are. Don’t have unrealistic standards by trying to become someone you’re not. Work on being healthy.

Answer by Mr Bigglesworth
I’ll let you in on a little secret, guys really dont like women who look like stick figures, dont worry about being thin like a model.

Here is the Question: What should I expect at an OPEN CALL for a modeling agency, If I’m a PRINT model?
What should I expect at an OPEN CALL for a modeling agency, If I’m a PRINT model?
I’m 15, and an actress, and am just getting into modeling. But what should I expect- I’m going to be a PRINT model, so what should I bring, wear, how do I do my make up? I don’t have a portfolio because I’ve never modeled so do I bring anything?

As much advice as you can give please!? Help!

expect to put out.

Answer by annabannana(:
an open call means like anyone can go and theres no really specific look. Bring a good picture (like a headshot & a full length one) with a resume attatched to the back (even if you havent modeled you can say what activities you do or training youve done or dance or whatever). Also keep the makeup simple they want to see you! I would say mascara, tinted moisturizer, and lip balm with a little bit of color and set your makeup with a slight bit of powder so your skin isnt oily. Wear your hair pulled back in a pony tail or half pony tail and wear a black v-neck or something but make sure it shows off your body shape too! good luck!

Can someone please tell me the ins and out, how to diet and workout i really wwhat to become a high fashion model

Answer by jumpman247
I think the first major thing is being the right height, 6 foot plus is good.

Answer by mr_zebra26
New York City can be rough when trying to break into the industry. Here are a list of requirements:

1.Learn the industry!

If you’re male . . .

* You can start out a little later, roughly between the ages of 18 and 25. They won’t want you to look too childish. The good news is that a man’s modeling career usually lasts longer than a woman’s, and since ten-year-old boys more often dream of blowing things up rather than strutting the Hugo Boss runway, this side of the biz tends to be less competitive as well.

* Average dimensions for a male model are a height of 5′11″- 6′2″ and a weight of 140-165 lbs. You should also be fit (not bulging with muscles, but definitely healthy).

Here is a great website with great tips and videos!

i would like to work as a print model in AZ. How do i start?

get an agent…here are some in AZ

Answer by nikonfotos100
Why don’t you look at this website and look over some of the portfolios in there (models and photographers). Then find a couple of photographers in your area that you like their style of work and then contact a couple of them and see if they would be interested in doing a TFP (Time For Prints) or TFCD (Time For CD). In other words you supply your time as a model he / she as a photographer and you get images in return. You will have to sign a model release so that you and he / she can use the images.

http://www.asmp.org/commerce/legal/relea…

If you do join as a model do not just go with the beginners portfolio but maybe at least silver level and update regularly.

Go to “talent” then “photographers” and then look it up in your are or by zip.

http://www.onemodelplace.com

You don’t have to have an agent or agency. Most of the time they think about themselves first not you, if another model will get them more money they will send her to that shoot, not all are bad but some are so you have to be care full what you do.

Take a look at this one and read their FAQ it will give you many answers.

http://www.fordmodels.com/main.cfm………

You can also make a “ZED” card and print it on a 5×7 color print, which you can then just address the back and send it out without it being in an envelope. You would like 3-5 images on there a good portrait, a full length in normal and / or “High Fashion” clothes, a shot in a bathing suit if you look good in one and also put in your stats: height, shoe size, dress size measurements etc. Some of those pictures can also be in B&W. You can then using photo editing software combine the images on to a 5×7 size blank template and then type in the above info that I mentioned and then send your file to an online printing company or a local one.

You should also put an e-mail on there and an additional web link to your website so they can see more pictures and then contact you if they are interested.

Hope this helps,
Kevin
